Meet Our Team
Dr. Ramier
Dr. Ramier is a 1988 graduate of Dalhousie Dental School and founding partner of Community Dental Center. Besides private practice, he also has been instructing at the Dalhousie Dental School since 1989.
Though, enjoying all aspects of general dentistry, Dr. Ramier has a special interest in orthodontics. After taking advanced courses in orthodontics, he has become a member of the International Association of Orthodontists. He is also a member of the Nova Scotia Dental Association and Canadian Dental Association.
Dentistry is a forever changing profession and through instructing at the Dalhousie Dental School and Continuing Education courses, Dr. Ramier has managed to stay abreast of these changes. By having the most advanced technology, techniques and treatment available, patients can be provided with the highest standard of care which is his utmost goal.
In his spare time Dr. Ramier enjoys playing golf, hockey, skiing, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family.
Dr. Heather MacLean
Dr. Heather MacLean has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years. She graduated from Dalhousie University with Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1988. She then went to Toronto to pursue further studies in hospital dentistry at St. Michael's Hospital. She completed a dental internship program there and taught Oral Diagnosis and Oral Medicine at the University of Toronto.
Dr. MacLean returned to Nova Scotia in 1990 and joined Community Dental Center. She continued teaching at Dalhousie Dental School until 1994. She is an active participant in continuing education courses and is also committed to learn about the latest and best techniques that are available for her patients.
Heather is passionate about her patients and providing the highest quality of care in a comforting environment. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry especially esthetic dentistry, CEREC one-step porcelain restorations and implants.
She always listens to her patients focusing on their needs and desires. Her team is her greatest asset and is totally committed to excellence in patient care. They treat every patient like a family member.
Dr. Heather MacLean is married with two sons. She enjoys cheering at her kids hockey games and family vacations.
Dr. Natasha Hovey
Dr. Natasha Hovey, was born in Halifax, NS and then moved on to Ottawa and Fredericton to again return to her roots graduating from Acadia with a degree in Biology. Dr. Hovey received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Dalhousie University in 2003 and joined Community Dental Center as a partner that same year.
Natasha has taught at the Dalhousie Dental School for several years guiding new dentists towards their career.
Dr. Hovey and her professional team are committed to their patients and enjoy providing a caring, comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. One area of dentistry that holds a lot of interest for Natasha is the esthetic aspect, helping everyone attain a beautiful smile, with the latest dental equipment available.
In her spare time Dr. Hovey loves to travel and also enjoys skiing, cooking, painting, fly fishing, walks at Martinique Beach and reading.
Dr. Matt MacIsaac
Dr. Matt MacIsaac hails from Antigonish, NS. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Saint Francis Xavier University. Matt completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Dalhousie University where he received additional recognition as valedictorian of his graduating class. He was also the recipient of a variety of both clinical and academic scholarships. Dr. Matt is now giving back by teaching part-time with the Faculty of Dentistry at Dalhousie University. Matt enjoys practicing general and cosmetic dentistry and maintains a strong commitment to ethical practice. He upholds a high level of skill and has a distinguishing personal character. Matt’s aspiration is to establish and maintain oral health for every patient and to achieve the esthetic goals set forth by each individual patient. In his spare time Matt continues to maintain an active lifestyle. He enjoys playing hockey, snowboarding, hiking, camping, fishing and boating.
Dr. Michael Pannozzo
Dr. Michael Pannozzo grew up in Waterloo, Ontario but fell in love with Nova Scotia when he spent his summers here with his family on the South Shore. Michael attended the University of Waterloo and Dalhousie for his undergraduate studies in Biology. He went on to graduate from Dalhousie with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Following his dental degree, Michael continued his dental education by completing a General Practice Residency at the University of Alberta Hospital. This year long hospital internship provided him with extensive training in extractions, other dental surgeries, and sedation on healthy and medically compromised patients. After completing this program, Michael returned to Nova Scotia to begin his dental career.
Dr. Pannozzo enjoys all aspects of dentistry, but has a special interest in dental implants and tooth extractions, including wisdom teeth. He is also one of only a handful of dentists in the province trained in intravenous sedation. His goal is to provide his patients with exceptional oral health care by providing the highest quality dentistry in a comfortable and relaxed environment. Michael is committed to life-long learning and understands that both the needs of his patients and the advancing technology available to give them the healthy smiles they want are constantly changing. He remains very interested in furthering his education and takes part in continuing education on many new and advancing areas of dentistry. In addition to continuing education, Michael is proud to be a graduate of Dalhousie Dentistry and has returned to the school to teach dental students in the area of Periodontics.
Outside of the dental office, Michael and his wife Susan keep busy by golfing, hiking, and learning to snowboard.
